Soms droom ik wel eens van een betere werkplaats dan mijn hobbelige opritje en dan zie ik mijzelf comfortabel, warm en droor onder m'n autootje staan. Wellicht komt daar wel eens ruimte voor.

Ik zou dan een gat kunnen graven en daar een smeerput van maken. Lijkt me geweldig, dat je zo op je vaste parkeerplek onder je auto door kunt lopen. Beetje goede verlichting en wat aflegruimte voor gereedschap erbij. Wie weet hoe je zoiets moet maken? Natuurlijk een beetje jammer om levend begraven te worden als de boel inzakt...

Of een tweedehands 2- of 4-koloms brug. Is natuurlijk variabeler qua werkhoogte, maar staat wellicht meer in de weg en zal ook wel wat duurder zijn. Wederom, liever niet eentje die inzakt. Dit stelt wellicht ook wat eisen aan de fundering. Beetje jammer als het betonnen vloertje in de m'n toekomstige schuur het begeeft.

Wat zijn jullie ervaringen? Wat is handig, goedkoop, veilig? Hoe begin je aan zoiets?

Een brug of smeerput hangt helemaal af hoe de toekomstige garage eruit komt te zien.
Voor een brug heb je een flinke hoogte nodig, of minstens een puntdak. Met een standaard hoogte van 2,6 meter kom je er dus niet.
Een vloerput is goed mogelijk en ook prima zelf te maken. Ik was pas bij iemand in Ede die een pracht put had, hij had het zelf gegraven en de putwanden gemetseld van blokken. Een aantal houten deksels erop in een rand, dan heb je ook wat aan de garage als je de put niet gebruikt. Maar daar heb je geen last van grondwater. Ik kan het wel vergeten omdat mijn grondwater al begint bij een halve meter.
Ach ja, je hebt wel eens dromen, vaak zijn dromen bedrog, maar heel soms komen ze uit !!

En ff melding maken bij de gemeente voor die put. Hier zal het nodig zijn daar niet

Ik heb een tweedehands 2-kolommer van 2009 gekocht voor €850,-. De vloer storten kostte mij totaal bijna €900,- maar twee stelconplaten voldoen in principe ook.
Daarnaast nog de 40 meter 380V bedrading en toebehoren aanleggen (welke aangelegd zijn door m'n zwager, wie mede-aandeelhouder van de brug is. zie de Corvette) t.w.v. +- €500,-
Verer zit er nog wat schuur- en verfspul bij, want alles wat zilvergrijs is, heb ik geschuurd en geverfd.

Al met al kan je dus concluderen dat er in totaal zo'n €2300 euro aan kosten in zitten. En dan hebben we alles echt super voordelig en komen alle hand- en spandiensten van onszelf...

Mijn advies is: bij lekker hobbymatig werk is een smeerput meer dan voldoende en vele malen voordeliger. Ik had verwacht voor ong. €1300,- klaar te zijn. Ik zat er dus €1000,- naast....

Ik heb in mijn werkplaats geen ruimte voor een brug (hoogte) en omdat ik hem huur is het ook geen goed idee om er een smeerput in te graven

De restauratiewerkzaamheden die ik in het verleden deed (door gezondheid mee gestopt), deed ik met behulp van een demontabele kantelbrug waarmee ik een auto op zo'n 45 graden kon zetten. Handig voor laswerk aan dorpels en wielkasten, zelfs automaten verwisseld op die manier.

Er zijn trouwens complete kunststof smeerputten die je in zijn geheel kunt ingraven. Soort van grote plastic bak die je in de grond stopt.

Als je last van grondwater hebt (had een kammeraad van me ook) kun je de wanden van de put ook bedekken met glasvezelmatten en polyester.

Zelf heb ik voor een schaarbrug gekozen, waardoor geen kolommen nodig zijn. De brug verzinkt geheel in het beton, en bij niet in gebruik is die dus ook niet in het zicht. Kom gerust eens kijken of proberen.

Ja, ik zat jullie initiatief al met argus-ogen te volgen. Maar zoals je weet, dring ik mijn moderne bak niet graag op aan jullie mooie chroom-club. Ik kom zeker een keer langs. Zaterdagen zijn alleen wat lastig voor mij, maar ik wil zeker wel eens spraten over doordeweekse sleutelmogelijkheden. Stalling heb ik niet nodig. De mijne blijft rijden!!

Ik doe al mijn werken thuis in de schuur met miniramps en een rolbedje om eronder te geraken. Voor een smeerput te veel water, voor een brug te weinig hoogte. Laatst vond ik via google een topic van iemand die zelf een oprijbrug had gemaakt voor zijn VW-bus. Fotootje:

Dit lijkt me een goede tussenoplossing, als je de ruimte ervoor hebt. Ik kan volgens mij op deze manier m'n W124 op comfortabele werkhoogte krijgen.

Handig idee zo'n oprijbrug, en als je het middenstuk demontabel maakt kun je overal makkelijk bij

Ik had op mijn vorig woon adres een smeerput gemaakt in de garage. Een hele verbetering t.o.v. 'op de kouwe beton liggen met je lijf', zeker. Maar had wel erg veel last van grondwater daar (put was 1.80 diep, heb er wel eens 1.60m water in gehad tijdens een nat najaar ) ergo voorafgaand aan klussen een dikke 3 kwartier de dompelpomp erin...
*Zo'n polyesterbak kan bij zoveel grondwater trouwens ook niet geplaatst worden, die komt nl gewoon omhoog door de waterdruk..*

Nu op het huidig adres een 2kolommer geplaatst (gebruikt, kostte toen 650eu meen ik) wat dan weer een hele verbetering is t.o.v. een put. Niet alleen is het makkelijker toegankelijk, ook het werken op de juiste hoogte is nu appeltje/eitje.
Dus als je de mogelijkheid hebt zou ik zeker voor een brug gaan!

Er zijn trouwens van iedere brug voor -en nadelen te noemen, bij een 2kolommer werk je bv niet zo makkelijk aan de dorpels/deuren en is de binnenkant van de auto wat moeilijker te bereiken, bij een 4kolommer weer wel. Daarentegen is wielen wisselen/ remmen vervangen/ fuseekogeltje vernieuwen etc op een 2 kolommer weer makkelijker. Tis net waar je zelf de meeste waarde aan hecht.
Verder win je met een brug een parkeerplek> eentje op de brug en eentje eronder...

Veel dank voor alle inspirerende verhalen. Ik ben er nog niet uit, maar vind zo'n metalen oprijbrug wel heel slim. Ik heb nog wat gegoogeld op smeerputten en het maken daarvan lijkt toch ook niet echt vanzelf te gaan: kans op instorten bij het graven, problemen met grondwater, noodzaak van gas-afvoer, veel lengte nodig i.v.m. mogelijkheid brand. Zo'n twee-kolommer lijkt me geweldig, maar goed om gewaarschuwd te zijn over de gemakkelijk oplopende kosten. Binnenkort ga ik eerst maar eens in Nijmegen kijken. Een knutsel-hal op een half uurtje rijden is ook niet verkeerd...
